How long have you worked at CSG? 2.5 years
What's your favourite part of the job?
Putting a smile on a client’s face, while helping them find insurance that fits their needs. It’s a complex role that allows me to feel rewarded after I know I did a job well done.
What's the most challenging part of the job?
Acquiring new clients, all the while staying available for my existing clients. Rapport is everything and it takes practice to develop and keep relationships with clients when each one is different from the last. You have to develop the understanding of how to accommodate dozens of different people every day to ensure they have a great experience dealing with you.
What skills have you learned at CSG?
The confidence to approach different kinds of people in the way that they prefer to connect. It’s helped me to be more adaptable. These kinds of skills are transferable and often extend into everyday situations, not just at work.
What makes CSG different from other places you’ve worked?
At CSG we have leaders, not bosses. They treat the staff like one big family. They aren’t there to act superior. They are there to watch you succeed and genuinely want to help you do so. That makes a big difference in the overall success of an employee.
What is the work culture like at CSG?
CSG has a very healthy, family-oriented work culture. We work as one, respecting and helping each other grow. Even though there’s a lot of independent work, you still always feel like you’re part of a team. There’s no negative energy when you walk into work, everybody wants to build one another up.
What advice do you have for young professionals looking to stay in the Windsor-Essex area?
Sometimes it can seem like you’re never going to get your dream job but you need to remember that you’re never going to start at the top. You have to work your way up the ladder, stay positive and never give up!
